To join the swimming club a swimmer would need to go through an intake trial as space is limited within the club. The minimum standard for the trial is to be able to swim 25m (1 length of the allander) on frontcrawl, backstroke, breaststroke and be able to attempt to swim butterfly. For 9 and under swimmers, a trial will usually take place on a Saturday morning at 10.30-11.30am. There is no age limit for a trial but for swimmers older than 9 years may be asked to attend different sessions and the expectation will be higher to manage sessions at the desired age related group.
